What happened to variety? :wiat:

based on this thread http://cubeengine.com/forum.php4?action ... ad_id=2552 (on cube 2 forum):

There is the possibility of implementing a server that has set gamemode rotation. I mean you guys, you could do this? @->--

For exmaple 2 (or more) gamemodes: one game insta ctf and next game effic ctf (or other fun gamemode).

P.D. I hope you can understand me, as many of you know (or not) my english sucks as instagib (sometimes). :shame:

Yes, this is a nice idea. There should be some public servers that change the game mode automatically between iCTF and eCTF (and maybe CTF too). :P

We had already launch such a server in 2009. It was a server for only invited people without noobs.
The project was called "Sauerclub"

But it wasn't successful, because most of the player don't want this. They only want to play regen or insta.

I would appreciate real EFFIC CTF Public server. Sadly, that people dont like effic so much, and most of effic players are probably lazy to play "all the day" at effic public server to make it visible for all.

ICTF is simply boring

PSL 5 is, not visible in masterlist. There is ogros server efficctf but not so popular (i think its ogros server)

Yeah, I think it's ogros.org 2. But it's not as populair as the PSL servers. :)

As Berk already said, we had the sauerclub.org
Of course, we can a try it again, and I like the idea, but then after the new release, since there are the new "collect" modes!
So far, I'm interested what kind of rotation would be your favourite! Suggestions please!

Also depends, how will people like collect mode. I played it in SVN and its fun. Nothing like. Whoah thats great!

ICTF ECTF as server 1
ICollect ECollect server 2

ctf with ictf and ectf is not good style . CTF is a bit different from ectf and ictf. And also more forgotten then known for most "public" players.

I've downloaded the SVN some months ago, but I didn't play the collect mode yet. :P
And yes, you may be right because CTF is not a really known mode.

Well, this gamemode rotation would not be as simple as going from one mode to another.

insta CTF to effic CTF
Is essential to note that the number of players will be less than 6 (max 8) in small maps. And when the number of players is greater than 6 (or 8) to use a large map, maybe Valhalla, core_refuge or other large maps that are not normally used almost in the map rotation. And perhaps implement a standby mode
I hope I explain better with a pseudocode fragment

collect wil be a great and hard mode, i like it.
hold (insta or effic) is a very fun mode. i love it.
ctf is a complicate mode at the beggining, but its geat too.
protect mode is misunderstood by many, :P.

My choose is insta CTF to effic CTF (of course) on one server.
And the other one with: hold to protect (both effic or insta, maybe a mix) or effic collect to ctf.

I think this idea is good (inscta ctf all time is borin) you can do a PSL 5 or change one of the unpopular ogros.org server to ECTF or others gamemodes.
And the problem is collect, most of player wont have sauerbraten with the last version of justice.
The best solution for me is create a PSL 5 with the auth comand, only EFCT or change ogros.org servers (the most unpopular) to create a ECTF server.
